Greetings,
Thank you for
your interest in our HOVWorld website and the Transportation Research
Board’s Committee on HOV Systems. Our web site
is designed to provide you with a one-stop link on the
planning, operation, design, performance, and marketing
of HOV and Managed Lane facilities, along with
information about upcoming committee activities.
The Committee on HOV Systems is charged with furthering the
research and education on the role of HOV facilities play
in addressing regional mobility needs. We have sponsored
numerous research activities (including development of
the NCHRP #414 HOV Systems
Manual),
sponsored various regional and international HOV
conferences, and provided on-going monitoring of HOV
facilities throughout North America. Through this web
site, our hope is to provide a forum for further
discussion on the role HOV and Managed Lane facilities
can play in meeting the mobility needs of our
transportation system.
Our committee is made up of over 25 professionals from
various federal, state, and local governmental agencies,
universities, and transportation consulting firms. Members
serve three-year terms and serve on a variety of
sub-committees that handle the committee’s business. If you
are interested in learning more about the committee, we
invite you to become part of our Friends of the Committee.
Sincerely,
Ginger Daniels Goodin
Chair, TRB Committee on HOV Systems
